BILL VIOLA
Known as one of the first artists to champion the medium of film as an art form, Viola’s work deals largely with the universal themes of human consciousness and experience. Exploring the visceral stages of birth, death, love and fear, Viola uses the recurring motif of water in his artworks to represent the cycles of human transformation. Inspired by spirituality, religion and culture Viola’s interest in mystic traditions can be seen in his transcendent artworks that grapple with the complexity of life and death. His insouciant use of experimental video art and sound, interwoven with avant-garde music performance have been received with international acclaim.
REBECCA HORN
Working predominantly in body art, Rebecca Horn operates in a variety of mediums including performance art, installation art, sculpture and film. In 1968 Horn produced her first body sculptures in which she attached objects and instruments to the human body, delving into the relationship between a person and their environment. Her seemingly oppressive uniforms offer elements of hidden tenderness and intimacy, with the duality of her provocative symbolism encouraging the viewer to reconcile notions of restraint and freedom. Horn is said to have revolutionised film and performance art with her disruptive body extensions that manifest ideas of physical isolation and loneliness.

Hailing from three generations of Italian hairdressers, Restuccia operates in a nonconformist space where minimal design and unrivalled skills are utilised to carefully craft hair. Restuccia has also developed a refined haircare range made from Australia’s finest organic ingredients. Restuccia’s Melbourne-based salon ANDY.R comprises of an independent gallery space designed to engage artists with a similar aesthetic and design ethos. His unique and unconventional view of the world has seen him collaborate with renowned international artists and designers. Restuccia has elevated the barometers of his practice, infusing his craft with artisanal methods, minimal design and meticulous craftsmanship.
BORIS BIDJAN SABERI
The half-German, half-Persian menswear designer has defied convention since the launch of his eponymous label in 2007. Saberi opened his first atelier in Monistrol de Montserrat, later moving his headquarters to Barcelona where the atelier now resides. Known for his unique interpretation of design principals from European and Middle-Eastern cultures, Saberi’s tailored approach and use of raw materials has solidified his position on the world stage. Since the inception of the brand, Boris Bidjan Saberi has been participating in the official Paris Fashion Week calendar where he now debuts his otherworldly creations.
MAURIZIO AMADEI
Stepping away from mass production and fast fashion, Italian designer Maurizio Amadei has carved a niche in the fashion market with his cult label m.a+. Amadei’s aesthetic is defined by his signature silhouettes and minimal designs, his philosophy follows the form and function of the human body with each piece carefully crafted to function as a second skin. As a self-taught craftsman, Amadei’s designs are relinquished from the shackles of traditional fashion production. Preferring instead to focus on artisanal production techniques in his Rome atelier, Amadei’s collections are rendered with a rare human touch that bestows each piece with a timeless appeal.
CAMPBELL MCDOUGALL
Since 2008 Campbell McDougall has carefully curated a luxurious and coveted selection of avant-garde clothing in the heart of Berlin. Darklands is an unconventional space operating at the nexus of fashion, art and culture. The movable space hosts multiple events, attracting international DJs, artists and the fashion cognoscenti alike. The store follows a guerrilla style concept that involves switching locations, opting for ever more discrete and obscure sites. The unique client experience is amplified through the multipurpose creative space that has woven itself into the very fabric of Berlin culture.
DANÍEL BJARNASON
Bjarnason is an Icelandic composer and conductor who marries brutal modernism to classical conventions. Bjarnason’s oeuvre has been celebrated worldwide, with Time Out New York declaring that Bjarnason’s music “Comes eerily close to defining classical music’s undefinable brave new world”. Inspired by art and culture alike, Bjarnason’s prolific output has seen him collaborate with an impressive array of musicians including Sigur Rós, Efterklang and Ben Frost. At only 39-years-old, the award-winning musician has altered the trajectory of classical music.
